Did you perform a Diagnostic System Check for the Doors system?

Verify that the driver power door lock is inoperative.

Does the driver power door lock operate normally?

Are all of the power door locks inoperative?

Go to Power Door Locks Inoperative - Passenger Door

  1. Remove the door lock relay and the driver door unlock relay.
  2. Probe the control circuit of each relay that was removed with a test lamp connected to battery positive voltage, while commanding the door locks to lock and unlock from a door lock switch.

Did the test lamp flash or stay illuminated for each circuit when commanded to lock or unlock?

Go to Step 5

Did the test lamp stay illuminated for either of the relay control circuits?

Go to Step 6

Test the appropriate relay control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

Test the door unlock relay unlock control circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Backprobe the door lock relay Unlock controlled circuit, with a test lamp connected to ground, while commanding the door locks to unlock from a door lock switch.

Did the test lamp flash when the door locks were commanded to unlock?

Test the door lock relay controlled circuits to the driver door actuator for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 16

Inspect for poor connections at the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the driver door lock actuator. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the LH IP Junction Block. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the driver door unlock relay.
