  1. Ensure that a proper connection of the power seat switch exists.
  2. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the power seat switch between terminal H and terminal G.
  3. Move the power seat switch to the forward and back positions.

Does the test lamp light with the switch in both positions?

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the forward-back motor connector between terminal A and ground.
  2. Move the power seat switch to the forward position.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the power seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

  1. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe the forward-back motor connector between terminal B and ground.
  2. Move the power seat switch to the back position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 285 between the power seat switch and the forward-back motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
