Test and repair the battery positive voltage circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test and repair the ground circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the inoperative adjuster motor connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp across the adjuster motor supply circuit terminals.
  3. Press the inoperative function control switch in both directions.

Does the test lamp illuminate when the switch is pressed in both directions?

Inspect the drive cable and actuator for any mechanical condition which may prevent proper seat operation, if OK replace the inoperative adjuster motor. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the power seat switch connector.
  2. Test and repair the inoperative adjuster motor supply circuits for an open or short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the power seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .
