Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the center IP trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  3. Remove the console tray insert. Refer to Console Tray Insert Replacement .
  4. Remove the left console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .

  6. Object Number: 497555  Size: SH
  7. Remove the shifter cable.

  8. Object Number: 497556  Size: SH
  9. Remove the park/shift lock cable.

  10. Object Number: 497558  Size: SH
  11. Remove the console main wiring harness connector.

  12. Object Number: 625798  Size: SH
  13. Open the IP storage compartment door and remove the fastener (1).

  14. Object Number: 625804  Size: SH
  15. Remove the fasteners (1, 2) from the console to the IP.

  16. Object Number: 625802  Size: SH
  17. Remove the fasteners (1) from the console to the floor.
  18. Move the front seats to the full forward position.
  19. Remove the fasteners (2) from the console to the floor.
  20. Move the front seats to the full rearward position.

  21. Carefully, so as not to damage the seats, slide the console rearward and up to remove from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Carefully, so as not to damage the seats, install the console into the vehicle by sliding forward and fitting up to the IP.

  2. Object Number: 625802  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fasteners (1) from the console to the floor.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Move the seat to the full forward position.
  6. Install the fasteners (2) from the console to the floor.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (2) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  8. Install the fasteners (1, 2) from the console to the IP.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

    Tighten
    Tighten the fastener (2) to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  10. Install the right side fastener (1).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  12. Connect the main wiring harness connector.

  14. Install the park/shift lock cable.

  15. Object Number: 497555  Size: SH
  16. Install the shifter cable.
  17. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  18. Install the right console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  19. Install the left console trim panel. Refer to Front Floor Console Side Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  20. Install the tray assembly. Refer to Console Tray Insert Replacement .
  21. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Console Trim Plate Replacement .
  22. Install the center IP trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Center Trim Panel Replacement .
