CHANGE OIL SOON

The DIC displays the CHANGE OIL SOON 3 message when the powertrain control module (PCM) determines that the engine oil life is less than 11 percent. The DIC receives a class 2 message from the PCM. After the oil is changed, perform the engine oil monitor reset procedure. Refer to GM Oil Life System Resetting in Maintenance and Lubrication.

CHECK OIL LEVEL

The DIC displays the CHECK OIL LEVEL 5 message when the PCM detects low engine oil level, and the signal circuit is high. The PCM sends a class 2 message to the DIC indicating the engine oil level .

CONFIRM TIME AND DATE

The DIC displays the CONFIRM TIME AND DATE 7 message when any of the following occur: The radio send a class 2 message to the DIC requesting a time update. The battery is disconnected and then reconnected. Press the RESET button in order to display the last known date.

LOW FUEL

The DIC displays the LOW FUEL 16 message when the PCM determines that the fuel level is less than 16 percent. The PCM sends a class 2 message to the DIC indicating fuel level.

LOW OIL PRESSURE

The IPC illuminates the LOW OIL PRESSURE indicator when the PCM detects low engine oil pressure, and the signal circuit is low. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM.

LOW OIL PRESSURE

The DIC illuminates the LOW OIL PRESSURE message when the PCM detects low engine oil pressure, and the signal circuit is low. The DIC receives a class 2 message from the PCM.

SERVICE VEHICLE SOON

The DIC displays the SERVICE VEHICLE SOON message when the powertrain control module (PCM) detects certain malfunctions that are not related to the emissions system.
