Rear Compartment Lid Release Switch Replacement for Oldsmobile Intrigue 1998

1. Remove the instrument panel steering column opening filler. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.



2. Remove the screws from the switch bank.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel door/trunk lid switch.
4. Remove the fuel door/trunk lid switch.

1. Install the fuel door/trunk lid switch.



2. Connect the electrical connectors to the fuel door/trunk lid switch.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

3. Install the screws to the switch bank.

Tighten
Tighten the switch bank screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

4. Install the steering column opening filter. Refer to Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
