Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors Air Baffle

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the hood.

  2. Object Number: 289169  Size: SH
  3. Remove the radiator air baffle upper retaining clips.
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the outside air temperature sensor if equipped. Refer to Ambient Temperature Sensor Replacement in Air Conditioning - Automatic.
  6. Remove the radiator air baffle lower retaining clips.
  7. Remove the radiator air baffle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radiator air baffle.
  2. Install the radiator air baffle lower retaining clips.
  3. Install the outside air temperature sensor if equipped. Refer to Ambient Temperature Sensor Replacement in Air Conditioning - Automatic.
  4. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Install the radiator air baffle upper retaining clips.
  6. Lower the hood.

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  2. Object Number: 289170  Size: SH
  3. Remove the radiator lower air deflector mounting bolts.
  4. Remove the radiator lower air deflector.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 289170  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator lower air deflector.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the radiator lower air deflector mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft)

  5. Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 308903  Size: SH

    Caution: Keep hands, tools, and clothing away from the electric engine coolant fans in order to help prevent personal injury. These fans are electric and can turn on whether or not the engine is running. The fans can start automatically with the ignition in the ON position.

  1. Remove the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement Radiator Replacement .
  2. Remove the radiator side baffle(s).
  3. Clean and repair as necessary the radiator side baffle mounting surface.
  4. Prepare the mounting surface. Refer to Body and Accessories.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 308903  Size: SH

    Important: Radiator side baffles are mounted above and in contact with lower A/C condenser insulators (1).

  1. Install the radiator side baffle(s).

  2. Object Number: 308906  Size: SH
  3. Place left radiator side baffle (1) as shown.

  4. Object Number: 308910  Size: SH
  5. Place right radiator side baffle (2) as shown.
  6. Install the radiator. Refer to Radiator Replacement .
