Was the BCM diagnostic system check performed?

  1. Remove key from the ignition key lock cylinder.
  2. Close all vehicle doors.
  3. While observing the door locks, press lock then unlock on the driver's door lock switch.
  4. While observing the door locks, press lock then unlock on the passenger door lock switch.

Do all doors lock and unlock when using either door lock switch?

  1. Disconnect the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) electrical connector.
  2. Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
  3. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the BCM harness connector C1 terminal C15 and the RCDLR harness connector terminal E.

Is the resistance measured within the specified range?

Less than 2ohms

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

  1. Replace the RCDLR.
  2. Reconnect the BCM.
  3. Reprogram all transmitters. Refer to Receiver Replacement for service procedure.
  4. Make sure key is removed from the ignition key cylinder lock.
  5. Close all vehicle doors.
  6. While observing the door locks, press once the lock button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  7. While observing the door locks press twice the unlock button on the keyless entry transmitter.
  8. While observing the headlamps and listening to the horn, press the alarm button on the keyless entry transmitter.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door locks and alarm?

System OK

Go to Step 6

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 917.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

  1. Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System for service procedures.
  2. After BCM replacement, perform the Setup New BCM procedure. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Reinstall connectors/components removed.
  3. Check for BCM current DTCs. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Displaying in Body Control System for procedure.

Are there any BCM current DTCs present?
