DEFINITION: The inside rear view mirror and roof rail courtesy lamps stay on with all doors closed, the I/P lamp dimmer switch off, and none of the interior lighting modes activated. However, the inadvertent load (battery rundown) protection turns off the these lamps after 20 minutes.

1. Make sure the I/P lamp dimmer switch is off.
2. Close all the vehicle doors.
3. Turn the ignition switch off.
4. Connect scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
5. Turn the ignition switch on.
6. Using the scan tool, monitor the status of the THEATER DIM 2.

Does the scan tool display that the status of the outputs of the THEATER DIM 2 is off?

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Disconnect the BCM connectors C2 and C3.
3. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between the BCM harness connector C2 terminal A1 and ground.

Is the resistance measured same as the specified value?

1. Reconnect the BCM connectors C2 and C3.
2. Turn the ignition switch on.
3. Make sure the I/P lamp dimmer switch is off.
4. Close all the vehicle doors.
5. Observe the roof rail and inside rearview mirror courtesy lamps.

Are the roof rail and inside rearview mirror courtesy lamps off?

Repair short to ground in circuit 157.

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Reinstall the connectors/components removed.
3. Check for BCM DTCs. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Displaying in Body Control System.

1. Close all the vehicle doors.
2. Turn off the I/P lamp dimmer switch.
3. Turn the ignition switch on.
4. Cycle (on/off) the switch for the roof rail courtesy/reading lamp.

3. Turn the ignition switch on.
4. Cycle (on/off) the switches of the inside rearview mirror reading lamps.
