DEFINITION: The sunshade illuminated mirror lamps do not turn on when the mirror cover is open.

Check the filament of the sunshade illuminated mirror lamps bulb(s).

Any bulb filament open?

Go to Step 4

  1. Remove the sunshade from the headliner. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement in Interior Trim for removal procedure.
  2. Turn the ignition switch from off to on.
  3. Using a test light, connect between the sunshade illuminated mirror harness connector terminal 1 and ground.

Is the test light on?

Using a test light, connect between the sunshade illuminated mirror harness connector terminals 1 and 2.

Is the test lamp on?

Go to Step 6

Replace the sunshade illuminated mirror lamp bulb(s). Refer to Bulb Usage for bulb specification.

Is the repair complete?

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 1732.

Is the repair complete?

    • Check the sunshade illuminated mirror connector terminal and bulb terminals for a poor connection.
    • If the connection is OK, then replace the sunshade. Refer to Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement in Roof.

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Reinstall the connectors/components removed.
  3. Check for BCM DTCs. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Displaying in Body Control System.
