Removal Procedure
- Remove the accessary power outlet/RCA bezel from the lower front
floor console. Refer to
Floor Console Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Remove the auxiliary video module from the lower front floor console.

- Remove the video cassette player.
- Reach through the video
cassette player opening and remove the 2 bolts.
- Reach through the video cassette storage opening and remove the
2 screws.
- Grasp the center console and slide the console towards the rear
of the vehicle.
- Remove the center console from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Loosely install the center console floor bracket to the center
console, using the two screws located in the video cassette storage opening.
1.1. | Point the hooked end of the bracket towards the bottom of the
center console. |
1.2. | The hooked end of the bracket will hook into the floor bracket
when properly installed. |
- Install the center console to the vehicle. Fully seat the console
against the H-bracket.
- Grasp the center console and slide the console towards the front
of the vehicle. Hook the console bracket onto the floor bracket.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Reach through the
video cassette storage opening and install the 2 screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Reach through the video cassette player opening and install the
2 bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the video cassette player.
- Install the auxiliary video module. Refer to
Audio/Video Interface Module Replacement
.
- Install the accessary power outlet/RCA bezel to the lower front
floor console. Refer to
Floor Console Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
