J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

1. Remove the lower center console RCA bezel. Refer to Center Console - Video Cassette Player Replacement .



2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the auxiliary module.
3. Remove the auxiliary module from the center console and set the module aside.



4. Remove the two screws from the mounting bracket of the video cassette player.



5. Remove two push-in fasteners from the bottom of the video cassette player using J 38778 .
6. Slide the video cassette player partially rearward in the console.
7. Disconnect the auxiliary module electrical connectors from the back of the video cassette player.
8. Unroute the auxiliary module electrical wiring harness from the lower center console.

1. Route the auxiliary module electrical wiring harness to the lower center console.
2. Connect the auxiliary module electrical connectors to the back of the video cassette player.
3. Slide the video cassette player forward into the lower center console.
4. Reach through the opening in the center console. Install the foam insulator between the top of the video cassette player and the center console.
5. Install the two push-in fasteners to the bottom of the video cassette player.




Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

6. Install the two screws to the video cassette player mounting bracket.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).




7. Install the auxiliary module to the center console.
8. Connect the electrical connectors to the auxiliary module.
9. Install the RCA bezel to the lower console. Refer to Center Console - Video Cassette Player Replacement .
