Preliminary Procedure

Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement.

Clutch Fastener (Qty 6)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Procedure

  1. Lock the flywheel with EN-49437 holder .
  2. Position the driven plate and the pressure plate on the flywheel and loosely tighten the bolts.
  3. Apply suitable locking agent. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers

Tighten
28 N·m(21 lb ft)

Clutch

Procedure

    • Centring the clutch with TBD guide drift .
    • Check the contact surface of the driven plate in the flywheel.
    • Check the pressure plate for scratches and warping.
    • Check the release bearing for noise, wear and the like.
    • Check driven plate wear and replace, if necessary.
    • For cars with self-adjusting pressure plate, clutch plate and pressure plate are matched in pairs and must therefore be replaced as a pair.
    • On vehicles with dual mass flywheel, the convex side of the driven plate should face the gearbox
    • Lubricate the primary shaft splines wtih grease. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers.
