Inspect the park brake cables for binding. Replace as necessary.

Ensure that the park brake cable is adjusted properly. Adjust the park brake cable as needed. Refer to Park Brake Cable Service/Adjustment .

  1. Inspect the rear brake shoe lining/park brake lining for excessive wear. Replace as necessary.
  2. Ensure that the park brake actuator does not bind and operates freely. Repair or replace as necessary.
  3. Adjust the park brake shoe and lining.
  4. • For domestic vehicles, refer to Drum Brake Adjustment in Drum Brakes.
    • For export vehicles, refer to Parking Brake Shoe Adjustment .

  1. Apply the park brake until 4 clicks are heard.
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
  3. Use your hands in order to rotate both of the rear wheels forward.

Do either of the rear wheels rotate forward?
