Do the hazard lamps work properly?

  1. Connect a test lamp from the turn signal switch power circuit at the turn signal switch to a good ground.
  2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between a turn signal input circuit at the turn signal/hazard flasher module and a good ground
  2. Turn ON the inoperative turn signal.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Inspect for poor connections at the hazard flasher switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the turn signal/hazard flasher module. Refer to Hazard Lamp Flasher Replacement .

Repair the open in turn signal switch power circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the turn signal switch connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
