Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) storage compartment door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement .
  2. Remove the fasteners securing the door insulator panel to the door.
  3. Remove the storage compartment door insulator panel.

  4. Object Number: 666570  Size: SH
  5. Remove the fasteners (1).
  6. Disconnect the latch rod (2).
  7. The latch will need to be rotated slightly.

  8. Remove the door latch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 666570  Size: SH
  1. Connect the latch rod (2) to the door handle.
  2. Align the latch to the IP storage compartment door.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the latch fasteners (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the door insulator panel.
  7. Install the door insulator panel fasteners.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the IP storage compartment door. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Door Replacement .
  10. Close the IP storage compartment door.
