Did you perform the Vehicle Diagnostic System Check?

Verify that the automatic door locks are inoperative.

Do the automatic door locks operate normally?

Go to in Wiring Systems

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  3. With a scan tool, observe the auto door locks mode parameter in the Body Control Module (BCM) data list.

Does the scan tool display Enabled?

Go to Step 4

Do the power door locks operate normally?

Go to Step 5

  1. Close the driver door.
  2. With a scan tool, observe the driver door ajar switch parameter in the Body Control Module data list.

Does the scan tool display Door Ajar?

Go to Step 6

Test the left front door ajar switch signal circuit of the driver door lock harness connector for a short to ground. Refer to and in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the body control module. Refer to and in Wiring Systems.

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the driver door lock. Refer to and in Wiring Systems.

  1. Perform the set-up procedure for the body control module. Refer to in Body Control System.
  2. Replace the body control module. Refer to in Computer/Integrating System.

Did you complete the replacement?
