The transmission contains an excessive amount of fluid.

1. Check the transmission fluid level.
2. Adjust the transmission fluid level as necessary.

The transmssion vent or vent hose is plugged.

Clear or replace the transmission vent or vent hose.

Refer to Transmission Vent Tube Replacement .

The transmission has worn or damaged seals.

1. Remove the transmission.

Refer to Transmission Replacement .

2. Inspect the transmission seal for wear or damage.

Refer to the Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair Manual.

3. Install the transmission.
