Did you perform the Engine Electrical Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Verify that the Clutch Pedal is pushed all the way in or that the transmission is in Park or Neutral.
  2. Turn the ignition to the START position.

Does the starter solenoid click?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Does the Starter Relay Click?

Is the Theft Indicator blinking?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the Starter Relay
  3. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the Starter relay coil and control circuit of the Starter relay.
  4. Verify that the Clutch Pedal is pushed all the way in or that the transmission is in Park or Neutral.
  5. Turn the ignition to the START position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 17

  1. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the starter relay coil and ground.
  2. Verify that the Clutch Pedal is pushed all the way in or that the transmission is in Park or Neutral.
  3. Turn the ignition to the START position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the Starter Relay
  3. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the starter relay switch and the supply voltage circuit of the starter solenoid.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the starter relay switch and ground.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the Clutch Pedal Position (CCP) Switch.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the CPC switch and the starter relay coil supply voltage circuit of the CPC switch.
  4. Turn the ignition to the START position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the CPC and a good ground.
  2. Turn the ignition to the START position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch.
  3. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the PNP switch and the starter relay coil supply voltage circuit of the PNP switch.
  4. Turn the ignition to the START position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the supply voltage circuit of the PNP and a good ground.
  2. Turn the ignition to the START position.
