  1. Inspect all components for excessive wear and replace as necessary.
  2. Perform pinion depth measurement and adjustment. Refer to Pinion Depth Adjustment .
  3. Install the differential drive pinion gear, bearing races, and new pinion seal to the housing. Refer to Drive Pinion Assemble .
  4. Install the differential carrier to housing (7). Refer to Differential Carrier Assembly Replacement .
  5. Perform side bearing preload adjustment and measurement. Refer to Differential Carrier Bearing Preload Adjustment .
  6. Perform a backlash adjustment and measurement. Refer to Backlash Adjustment .

  8. Install the axle shafts (4). Refer to Rear Axle Shaft Replacement .

  9. Object Number: 1500  Size: SH
  10. Install the rear axle housing cover and gasket. Refer to Rear Axle Housing Cover and Gasket Replacement .
  11. Refill the rear axle lubricant. Refer to Lubricant Level Check .

  12. Object Number: 180335  Size: SH
  13. Install the propeller shaft (2) to the vehicle. Refer to One-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement or Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement in Propeller Shaft.
  14. Install the rear torque arm. Refer to Torque Arm Replacement in Rear Suspension.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Inspect for proper operation of the rear axle.
