Front Side Door Jamb Switch Replacement 2-Door

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 351473  Size: SH

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the rubber boot (2) from the switch (1).
  3. Remove the screw that secures the door jamb switch (1) to the door jamb.
  4. Perform the following steps in order to gain access to the electrical connector of the door jamb switch (1):
  5. 4.1. Remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Body Side Rear Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
    4.2. Remove the rear speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  6. Disconnect the door jamb switch electrical connector.
  7. Remove the door jamb switch (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the door jamb switch electrical connector.
  2. Install the door jamb switch (1) to the vehicle. Secure the switch with the retaining screw.
  3. Perform the following steps:
  4. 3.1. Install the rear speaker. Refer to Radio Rear Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
    3.2. Install the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Body Side Rear Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Install the rubber boot (2) to the switch (1).
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.

Front Side Door Jamb Switch Replacement 4-Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the rubber boot (2) from the switch (1).
  3. Remove the screw that secures the door jamb switch (1) to the door jamb.
  4. Remove the lower center pillar trim panel in order to gain access to the electrical connector of the door jamb switch (1).
  5. Disconnect the door jamb switch electrical connector.
  6. Remove the door jamb switch (1) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the door jamb switch electrical connector.
  2. Install the door jamb switch (1) to the vehicle. Secure the switch with the retaining screw.
  3. Install the lower center pillar trim panel to the vehicle.
  4. Install the rubber boot (2) to the switch (1).
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
