Fascia Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Fascia Bolt (Qty: 4)

Tip
Pull back rear compartment carpet to gain access to bolts.

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Fascia Retainer (Qty: 5)

Tip

    • Use a small plastic wedge to release the retainers.
    • Pull on fascia upper center to release the retainers.

Rear Fascia

Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement Sedan

Removal Procedure
  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Apply tape to the corners of the adjacent surfaces.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  4. Remove the retainers from the rear wheelhouse liner to the rear fascia. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement .
  5. Pull back the rear wheelhouse liner and remove the push-in retainers from the quarter panel to the rear bumper fascia.

  6. Remove the screws from the center of the fascia.
  7. Remove the push-in retainers from the left and the right side of the lower rear bumper fascia.
  8. Remove the rear bumper fascia. With the aid of an assistant, pull the sides of the fascia outward to release the retainers from the rear fascia outer support.

    9. Disengage the ratchet retainers at the quarter panel ends.

  9. Disconnect the license lamp electrical connector.
  10. If replacing the rear bumper fascia, remove the following parts:
    11. • The rear energy absorber--Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
    • The rear bumper extension--Refer to Rear Bumper Extension Replacement .
    • The license lamp--Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
    • The license plate

Installation Procedure
  1. If replacing the rear bumper fascia, transfer the following parts:
    2. • The rear energy absorber--Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
    • Install the rear bumper extension. Refer to Rear Bumper Extension Replacement .
    • The license lamp--Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .
    • The license plate
  2. With the aid of an assistant, position the rear bumper fascia over the rear bumper impact bar. Engage the fascia locators at the quarter panel ends.
  3. Connect the license lamp electrical connector.
  4. Engage the fascia key slot retainers to the rear fascia outer supports. Press firmly inward to seat the fascia.

  5. Install the screws to the center of the fascia.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N·m (40 lb in).

  6. Install the push-in retainers to the rear bumper fascia lower support.
  7. Pull back the rear wheelhouse liner.
  8. Install the push-in retainer to the left and right sides of the fascia to the quarter panel.
  9. Install the retainers to the wheelhouse liner to the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Panel Liner Replacement .
  10. Remove the protective tape.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Close the rear compartment.
