Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 2008 🢒 G8 🢒 Seats 🢒 Seat Hardware, Trim, and Upholstery 🢒 Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the seat back assembly. Refer to Front Seat Back Replacement.
  2. Remove the seat belt lower retaining bolt. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement.
  3. Remove the trim panel - rear quarter lower. Refer to Quarter Lower Rear Trim Panel Replacement.

    4. Object Number: 1939627 Size: SH
  4. Remove the retaining torx screw cover (1).
  5. Remove the upper quarter trim panel retaining torx screw (2).

    6. Object Number: 1939630 Size: SH
  6. Working from the top of the upper quarter trim panel (1) disengage the retaining trim clips from the lower section (2).

    7. Object Number: 1939659 Size: SH
  7. Remove the lower section retaining torx screw (1).
  8. Remove the trim panel (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1939659 Size: SH

    Important: When installing the upper quarter panel trim, ensure that the seat belt is correctly fed through the seat belt access hole.

  1. Install the lower section of the upper quarter trim panel (2).

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the torx screw (1) to 2.0  N·m (18 lb in).

    Important: Make sure datum pins on the upper trim line up with the hole on the mid trim.

  2. Install the upper quarter trim panel (1) by firmly pushing it into the lower section of the trim panel (2).

    3. Object Number: 1939627 Size: SH
  3. Install the upper quarter panel retaining torx screw (2).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining torx screw to 2.0  N·m (18 lb in).

  4. Install the retaining torx screw cover (1).
  5. Install the seat belt lower retaining bolt. Refer to Front Seat Belt Replacement.
  6. Install the seat back assembly. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement.
  7. Attach the rear door weatherstrip. Refer to Rear Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement.
