    Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

    Note: The park brake cable adjustment bolt cover trim (1) is retained by 2 clips. Gently pry upwards with fingers at the front floor console armrest latch to remove.

  1. Remove the park brake cable adjustment bolt cover trim (1).

  2. Object Number: 1943708  Size: SH
  3. Loosen the park brake cable adjustment bolt (1) several turns to allow slack in the park brake rear cables.
  4. Make sure that the park brake actuator arms have fully retracted.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  6. Remove the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.

  7. Object Number: 1946843  Size: SH
  8. Install 2 wheel nuts (2) in reverse to opposite wheel studs to retain the brake disc (3) to the hub.
  9. Make sure that the brake disc (3) is free and does not bind. If the brake disc (3) is binding refer to the following procedures:
  10. •  Brake Rotor Thickness Variation Measurement
    •  Brake Rotor Assembled Lateral Runout Measurement
    •  Brake Caliper Inspection
  11. Remove the access hole plug (1) from the brake disc (3).

  13. Using a suitable lever such as a screwdriver, tighten the adjuster nut (1), until the brake disc is locked.
  14. Loosen the adjuster nut (1) 3-5 clicks. Make sure that the brake disc is free and does not bind.

  16. Install the access hole plug (1).
  17. Remove the 2 wheel nuts (2) retaining the brake disc (3) to the hub.
  18. Install the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  19. Lower the vehicle.

  21. Apply the park brake until the lever is extended 4-6 clicks.
  22. Tighten the park brake cable adjustment bolt (1) to remove any excess slack from the park brake cable.
  23. Make sure that this adjustment applies the park brake shoes by attempting to turn each rear wheel.
  24. Release the park brake and inspect that each rear wheel is free and does not bind.
  25. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
