For 1990-2009 cars only
- Remove the park brake cable adjustment bolt cover trim (1).
- Loosen the park brake cable adjustment bolt (1) several turns to allow slack in the park brake rear cables.
- Make sure that the park brake actuator arms have fully retracted.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Install 2 wheel nuts (2) in reverse to opposite wheel studs to retain the brake disc (3) to the hub.
- Make sure that the brake disc (3) is free and does not bind. If the brake disc (3) is binding refer to the following procedures:
- Remove the access hole plug (1) from the brake disc (3).
- Using a suitable lever such as a screwdriver, tighten the adjuster nut (1), until the brake disc is locked.
- Loosen the adjuster nut (1) 3-5 clicks. Make sure that the brake disc is free and does not bind.
- Install the access hole plug (1).
- Remove the 2 wheel nuts (2) retaining the brake disc (3) to the hub.
- Install the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Apply the park brake until the lever is extended 4-6 clicks.
- Tighten the park brake cable adjustment bolt (1) to remove any excess slack from the park brake cable.
- Make sure that this adjustment applies the park brake shoes by attempting to turn each rear wheel.
- Release the park brake and inspect that each rear wheel is free and does not bind.
- Lower the vehicle to the ground.
- Install the park brake cable adjustment bolt cover trim (1).

Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
Note: The park brake cable adjustment bolt cover trim (1) is retained by 2 clips. Gently pry upwards with fingers at the front floor console armrest latch to remove.
