The remote control door lock receiver system allows the
driver to use a hand-held transmitter in order to perform the following functions:
• | Unlock the driver's door |
• | Unlock all of the doors |
• | Release the rear compartment lid |
The range of the transmitter is approximately 7 meters
(23 feet). If the transmitter's range decreases, replace the battery
in the transmitter. Refer to
Transmitter Battery Replacement
.
The maximum range of the transmitter is dependent upon ambient conditions
as well as other operating parameters. Under some conditions, the transmitter's
range may be less than normal, or the receiver may not operate, due to interference
from anonymous radio transmissions. Attach the door lock key (oval head) (4)
to the key ring on the transmitter. The key will be available, if the receiver
does not operate.
If you unlock the driver's door or release the rear compartment
lid using the transmitter, the interior lamps light. The lamps remain lit
for approximately 40 seconds, or until the ignition switch is turned
to the RUN position.
This vehicle has door jamb switches on the front doors. A switch, mounted
on the door handle, controls the interior lamps. Two-door and 4-door models
use the door jamb switches on the front and rear doors in order to control
the interior lamps, if a rear door is open. The multifunction
module controls the interior lamps when any door is opened. The remote control
door lock receiver lights the interior lamps if you press the unlock button (2)
or the rear compartment lid release button (3) on the transmitter.
The transmitter sends
serial data to the door lock receiver remote control on a radio-frequency
carrier signal at 315 MHz, if you press one of the transmitter buttons.
The transmitter is resistant to damage from the following sources:
• | Moderate temperature changes |
• | Most common household and automotive fluids |
