Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 384920  Size: MH
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove enough door water deflector to access the door detent (2). Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the door detent (2) to the hinge pillar bolt (3).
  4. Remove the door detent to the door bolts (1).
  5. Remove the detent (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the door detent (2).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the door detent to the door bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  5. Install the door detent to the hinge pillar bolt (3).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb ft).

  7. Install the door water deflector. Refer to Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  8. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
