Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Upper Radiator Support

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 97613  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine mount strut(s) from the engine mount strut bracket(s) at the upper radiator support. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement and/or Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 190495  Size: SH
  3. Remove the four bolts from the engine mount strut bracket to the upper radiator support.
  4. Remove the engine mount strut bracket from the upper radiator support.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 190495  Size: SH
  1. Position the engine mount strut bracket over the upper radiator support so the engine mount strut bracket and the engine mount strut are aligned. Align the engine mount strut bracket with the proper holes of the upper radiator support.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the four bolts through the engine mount strut bracket to the upper radiator support.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount strut(s) to the engine mount strut bracket(s) at the upper radiator support. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement and/or Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Left Side, Engine

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  3. Remove the radiator support clamp from the engine mount strut bolt.

  5. Remove the engine mount strut at the left engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

  6. Object Number: 35814  Size: SH
  7. Remove the engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  8. Remove the engine mount strut bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 35814  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount strut bracket to the head.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount strut to the left engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  6. Install the radiator support clamp to the engine mount strut bolt.
  7. Install the engine coolant temperature sensor. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  8. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Right Side, Engine - L36

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 153564  Size: SH
  3. Remove the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  4. Remove the generator support brace. Refer to Generator Brace Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  5. Remove the ground wiring harness connection.

  6. Object Number: 97620  Size: SH
  7. Remove the right engine mount strut at the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

  8. Object Number: 97874  Size: SH
  9. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket nuts and bolt.
  10. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the right engine mount strut bracket to the cylinder head.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   5. Install the right engine mount strut to the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  6. Install the ground wiring harness connection.

Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Right Side, Engine - L67

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 153564  Size: SH
  3. Remove the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  4. Remove the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 97872  Size: SH
  6. Remove the upper supercharger drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 97873  Size: SH
  8. Remove the supercharger drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  9. Remove the generator support brace. Refer to Generator Brace Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  10. Remove the ground wiring harness connection.

  12. Remove the right engine mount strut at the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

  13. Object Number: 97874  Size: SH
  14. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket nuts and bolt.
  15. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the right engine mount strut bracket to the cylinder head.

  6. Install the ground wiring harness connection.

  9. Install the supercharger drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

  10. Object Number: 97872  Size: SH
  11. Install the upper supercharger drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  12. Install the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  15. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
