Removal Procedure
- Remove the right instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the vacuum electric solenoid.
- Disconnect the vacuum harness connector from the vacuum electric solenoid.
- Remove the vacuum electric solenoid mounting screws.
- Remove the vacuum electric solenoid.
Important: Pull the control solenoid straight down to release the tab from the slot in the HVAC module case.
Installation Procedure
- Align the vacuum electric solenoid valve tab to the slot in the HVAC module case, then push up to seat the control solenoid.
- Install the retaining screws.
- Install the vacuum electric solenoid mounting screws.
- Connect the vacuum harness connector to the vacuum control solenoid.
- Connect the electrical connector to the vacuum electric solenoid.
- Install the right instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the vacuum electric solenoid screws to 1.5 N·m
(13 lb in).
