Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery ground negative cable. Refer to

- Disable the SIR system. Refer to

- Remove the instrument panel (IP) insulators. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement
.
- Remove the LH and RH carpet retainers. Refer to
Carpet Retainer Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the windshield side upper garnish moldings. Refer to
Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the IP upper trim panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement
.
- Remove the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to
Front Floor Console Replacement

- Remove the steering column opening filler. Refer to
Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement
.
- Remove the knee bolster. Refer to
Knee Bolster Replacement

- Remove the steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement

- Remove the IP cluster trim plate. Refer to

- Remove the radio. Refer to

- Remove the HVAC control assembly. Refer to
Control Assembly Replacement
in HVAC.
- Remove the IP cluster. Refer to
Instrument Cluster Replacement

- Remove the headlamp switch. Refer to
Headlamp Switch Replacement

- Remove the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch, if equipped.

- Remove the instrument cluster HUD display, if equipped. Refer

- Remove the driver information center. Refer to

- Remove the IP compartment. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement

- Remove the IP compartment lamp switch. Refer to
Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Replacement

- Remove the inside air temperature sensor, if equipped. Refer to
Inside Air Temperature Sensor Replacement
in HVAC.
- Remove the IP trim pad
bolts at the windshield.
- Remove the left side lower
trim pad mounting bolts (1).
- Remove the IP cluster
pocket mounting bolt (1).
- Position the IP wiring harness aside.
- Remove the IP trim pad from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the instrument
panel (IP) trim pad to the vehicle.
- Reposition the IP wiring harness.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the upper
IP trim pad bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Install the IP cluster
pocket bolt (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Install the left side
lower IP bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement
in Steering.
- Install the knee bolster. Refer to
Knee Bolster Replacement
.
- Install the steering column opening filler. Refer to
Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement
.
- Install the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to
Front Floor Console Replacement

- Install the IP upper trim panel. Refer to
Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement
.
- Install the windshield side upper garnish moldings. Refer to

in Interior Trim.
- Install the IP insulators. Refer to

- Install the IP compartment lamp. Refer to

- Install the IP compartment. Refer to

- Install the driver information center. Refer to

- Install the instrument cluster HUD display, if equipped. Refer

- Install the instrument cluster HUD dimmer switch, if equipped.

- Install the air temperature sensor, if equipped. Refer to

- Install the radio system. Refer to

- Install the carpet retainers. Refer to

- Connect the battery ground negative cable. Refer to

in Engine Electrical.
