Inspect the IP compartment lamp bulb filament.

Is the IP compartment lamp bulb filament open?

  1. Disconnect the IP compartment lamp electrical connector.
  2. Use the test light in order to connect between B+ and the IP compartment lamp harness connector terminal B.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the IP compartment lamp switch electrical connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch from the OFF position to the RUN position.
  3. Use a test light in order to connect between the IP compartment lamp switch harness connector terminal B and ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Connect a test light between the IP compartment lamp harness connector terminal A and ground.
  2. Connect a 10A fused jumper between the IP compartment lamp switch harness connector terminals A and B.

Replace the IP compartment lamp bulb.

Repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 1450.

Replace the IP compartment lamp switch.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reinstall the connectors and components that were removed.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position for 6 seconds.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  5. Remove the MALL PGM fuse.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds the chime a number of times equivalent to the BCM type installed on the vehicle.)
  7. Within one second, turn the ignition switch from the ACC position, to the OFF position, then back to the ACC position. (The BCM sounds any DTCs stored.)
