Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left inner fender brace.
  2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
  3. Remove the 2 screws (2) from the 2 air cleaner housing sections.

  4. Object Number: 444496  Size: SH
  5. Remove the air cleaner cover assembly (1).
  6. Without disconnecting the powertrain control module (PCM) connectors, remove the PCM and the harness from the air cleaner housing.

  7. Object Number: 444479  Size: SH
  8. Carefully remove the air cleaner housing (1) by pulling the cover from the 2 rubber grommets (2) in the engine compartment. Inspect the assembly for signs of damage and replace if required.

Installation Procedure

  1. Carefully install the air cleaner housing by pushing the cover (1) into the 2 rubber grommets (2) in the engine compartment.
  2. Carefully install the PCM and the harness into the air cleaner housing (3).
  3. Install the air cleaner housing cover assembly (1).

  4. Object Number: 444496  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the 2 screws (2) to the air cleaner housing.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).

  7. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
  8. Install the left inner fender brace.
