    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .
  3. Remove the wire harness assembly (1) from the wire harness strap (2).
  4. Remove the wire harness straps from the steering column and the wire harness assembly (1).

  5. Slide the 2 connectors (2) of the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly out of the bulkhead connector (1).

  6. Object Number: 324877  Size: SH
  7. Slide the PASSKEY® III (2) off of the electronic lock module assembly (1).

  8. Object Number: 306267  Size: SH
  9. Remove the key alarm connector (1) from the electronic lock module assembly (2).
  10. 6.1. Rotate the key alarm connector (1) 90 degrees.
    6.2. Pull the key alarm connector (1) out of the electronic lock module assembly (2).

  11. Remove the connector (2) from the electric park lock (3).
  12. Remove the TORX® head screw (1) from the electric park lock (3).
  13. Remove the electric park lock (3).

  15. Remove the 2 tapping screws (2) from the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1).
  16. Remove the ignition and key alarm switch assembly (1) from the electronic lock module assembly.
