Was the entire HVAC diagnostic system check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the blower motor resistor.
  3. Check for a short to B+ in CKT 60, 63, 72, 73, or 52. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is a short to B+ present?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Repair a short to B+. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Step 5

Replace the blower motor resistor. Refer to Blower Motor Resistor Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reconnect all connectors /components removed.

Have all the repairs been made?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Turn both auxilliary blower switches to the OFF position.
  3. Disconnect the rear window wiper/washer and multi-function switch connector C2.

Does the auxilliary blower turn off?

Go to Step 3

Replace the rear window wiper/washer and multi-function switch. Refer to Auxiliary Air Conditioning (A/C) Control Assembly Replacement - Front .

Is the repair complete?

Repair a short to B+ in circuit 1176, 1072, or 1052. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Reconnect all connectors /components removed.

Have all the repairs been made?
