Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the license plate lamp. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement.
2. Heat the high mounted stop lamp mounting area using the J 25070 . Hold the J 25070 approximately (52 mm (6 in) from the surface. Apply heat using a circular motion for about 30 seconds.

Tip
Disconnect the high mounted stop lamp electrical connector.

High Mounted Stop Lamp Assembly

Procedure

1. Access the high mounted stop lamp retainer tabs through the license plate lamp opening in the rear bumper fascia.
2. Using pliers or diagonal cutters, break the retainer tabs from the back side of the high mounted stop lamp.

Preliminary Procedures

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Tip
Disconnect the rear license plate electrical harness from the rear bumper fascia bracket prior to removing the bracket.
