Park Brake Hardware Inspection Disc Brakes


    Object Number: 817998 Size: SH
  1. Visually inspect the shoe retaining springs (4,5,14) for the following conditions:
    2. • Excessive corrosion
    • Excessive stretching
    • Broken hook ends
    • Twisting or binding
    • Missing
  2. Visually inspect the shoe hold down springs (9,16) for the following conditions:
    3. • Bent
    • Broken
    • Missing
  3. Visually inspect the park brake lever (6) and the strut (7) for the following conditions:
    4. • Bent
    • Broken
    • Missing
  4. Visually inspect the park brake shoe adjuster (10,11,15) for the following conditions:
    5. • Excessive corrosion
    • Broken
    • Binding
    • Missing
  5. Replace the park brake hardware with the park brake shoes if necessary. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement .

Park Brake Hardware Inspection Drum Brakes


    Object Number: 819274 Size: SH
  1. Visually inspect the park brake hardware (7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 24) for the following conditions:
    2. • Excessive corrosion
    • Excessive stretching
    • Broken components
    • Bent components
    • Twisting or binding
    • Missing components
  2. Replace the park brake hardware with the drum brake shoes if necessary. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .
