Removal Procedure

  1. Ensure the front wheels are in the straight ahead position.
  2. Remove the upper instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement.

  3. Object Number: 2030462  Size: SH
  4. Separate the wire harness clamp (1) from the electronic power steering motor control module.

  5. Object Number: 2030460  Size: SH
  6. Pull out the lock (1) of the lock lever.
  7. Turn the lock lever in order to disconnect the connector (2) from the module.

  8. Object Number: 2030463  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the 3 connectors (1, 2, 3) from the module.

  10. Object Number: 2030464  Size: SH
  11. Remove the bolt (3), the 2 nuts (1, 2), and the module from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 2030464  Size: SH
  1. Install the electronic power steering motor control module with the bolt (3) and the 2 nuts (1, 2) and tighten to 8.0 N·m (71 lb in).

  2. Object Number: 2030463  Size: SH
  3. Connect the 3 connectors (1, 2, 3) to the module.

  4. Object Number: 2030467  Size: SH
  5. Connect the connector (1) to the module.
  6. Turn the lock lever (2).
  7. Securely push in the lock of the lock lever.
  8. Install the wire harness clamp (3) to the module.
  9. Install the upper instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement.
  10. Initialize the steering angle sensor and calibrate torque sensor zero point. Refer to Steering Angle Sensor Initialization and Steering Shaft Torque Sensor Zero Point Calibration.
