The cruise control switch is an input to the steering column control module. The steering column control module monitors the cruise control set/coast, resume/accelerate switch signal circuit in order to detect when the driver has requested to perform a cruise control switch function. The steering column control module also detects a scheduled voltage signal on the cruise control Set/Coast and Resume/Accel switch signal circuit, indicating the On/Off switch is applied. The ECM receives the function request of the cruise control switch on serial data signal circuit.
This diagnostic assumes the cruise control system is operating properly and no DTCs are set. If the cruise control system is malfunctioning, refer to Cruise Control Malfunction.
If any DTCs are set, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle.
