KM-962-A /KM-962-10 Tester

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1941538  Size: LF
  1. Remove the battery.
  2. • Disconnect the negative cable (2) from the battery.
      Remove the nut.
    • Disconnect the positive cable (3) from the battery.
      Remove the nut.
    • Remove the bracket (1).
      Remove the bolt (4).
    • Remove the battery.

  3. Remove the battery support.
  4. • Release the cable tie.
    • Remove the 3 bolts (1).
  5. Connect KM-962-A  (3) to the wiring harness plug of the selector lever position switch
  6. • Disconnect the wiring harness plug of the selector lever position switch (1).
    • Open the locking shackle.
  7. Connect KM-962-A with KM-962-A KM-962-10  (2) to the battery.
  8. Inspect the setting of the selector lever position switch.
  9.    Note: The light diodes corresponding to the markings on the insert module (1) must flash for each individual gear.

    • Shift through all the gears one after the other.
    • If the setting is incorrect:
       - Adjust the selector cable. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment.
       - Adjust the selector lever position switch. Refer to Transmission Range Switch Adjustment.
       - Inspect the electrical function of the selector lever position switch.
       - See test instructions.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the selector lever position switch wiring harness plug.
  2. • Disconnect KM-962-A from the selector lever position switch wiring harness plug.
    • Disconnect KM-962-A from KM-962-10.
    • Disconnect KM-962-A from the battery.
    • Lock the wiring harness plug.

    Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the battery support.
  4. Fasten the cable tie.

    Tighten
    Tighten 3 bolts 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the battery.
  6. • Install the bracket (1).
    • Tighten the bolt (4).

    Tighten
    Tighten bolt 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

    • Connect the positive cable (3) to the battery.
    • Connect the negative cable (2) to the battery.
