1. Driver Power Window Malfunction 2. Front Passenger Window Malfunction |
The front power windows are controlled by the driver window switch, front passenger window switch and the rear fuse block. The driver window switch contains the master power window switch that controls all power window operations. When a power window switch is activated to a desired position, power window switch will send a signal to it’s respective door window motor to move the window to the desired position. The window motors may also receive a comfort closing command from the rear fuse block which will cause all windows to perform the express down function.
• | Battery voltage must be between 9-16 volts. |
• | The ignition is ON |
The rear fuse block detects a short to ground or an open/high resistance in the comfort closing control circuit.
The comfort closing function will be inoperative.
• | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
• | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
• | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |

⇒ | If the test lamp is always OFF during either of the commands, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rear fuse block. |
⇒ | If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the rear fuse block. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
