The inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) runs continuous diagnostic tests on the restraints system. When the ignition is turned ON, the SDM will check to see if the correct components are installed for the vehicle configuration. If the SDM detects that there are too few or too many components on the system, DTC B1019 will set.
Ignition voltage is between 9-16 volts.
• | The SDM was programmed with the wrong options for the vehicle. |
• | The wrong SDM was installed for the content of the vehicle. |
• | The SDM connector may have bent pins or shorting bars causing the module to learn deployment loops that are not actually present. |
• | The SDM requests the instrument panel cluster (IPC) to illuminate the AIR BAG indicator. |
• | The SDM disables all deployments. |
• | The correct SDM must be installed. |
• | The correct components must be installed. |
If the SDM has been replaced, make sure that the correct part number was installed for this vehicle.
