Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 886301  Size: SH
  1. Remove the transaxle oil cooler lines from the transaxle. Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  2. Remove the 9 control valve body cover TORX bolts (1).
  3. Important: Do not damage the transmission side cover, case or sealing surfaces.

  4. Remove the control valve body cover (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 749819  Size: SH
  1. Clean any gasket material from the control valve body cover and inspect the gasket mounting surface.

  2. Object Number: 886301  Size: SH
  3. Install RTV sealer Saturn P/N 89020326 onto the control valve body cover.
  4. Important: Use LOCTITE™ 242 thread sealer on ALL bolt threads.

  5. Install the control valve body cover (2).
  6. Install the 9 control valve body cover bolts/screws.
  7. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Tighten the 9 control valve body bolts/screws in sequence.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the control valve body cover bolts/screws to 13 N·m (10 lb ft).

  10. Install the transaxle oil cooler lines to the transaxle. Refer to Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement .
  11. Important: It is recommended that the transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn the TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  12. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Learn .
