Removal Procedure
- Remove the transaxle oil cooler lines from the transaxle. Refer to
Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement
.
- Remove the 9 control valve body cover TORX bolts (1).
Important: Do not damage the transmission side cover, case or sealing surfaces.
- Remove the control valve body cover (2).
Installation Procedure
- Clean any gasket material from the control valve body cover and inspect the gasket
mounting surface.
- Install RTV sealer Saturn P/N 89020326 onto the control valve body cover.
Important: Use LOCTITE™ 242 thread sealer on ALL bolt threads.
- Install the control valve body cover (2).
- Install the 9 control valve body cover bolts/screws.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Tighten the 9 control valve body bolts/screws in sequence.
Tighten
Tighten the control valve body cover bolts/screws to 13 N·m (10 lb ft).
- Install the transaxle oil cooler lines to the transaxle. Refer to
Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement
.
Important: It is recommended that the transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.
Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the ECM, PCM or TCM
will need to relearn the TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.
