Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement L81

1. Remove the reservoir cap.
2. Remove the fluid feed line from the power steering pump and allow the system to drain into an approved container.



3. Disconnect the power steering pump feed line and the steering gear return line from the reservoir.



4. Remove the power steering reservoir to radiator support attachment fasteners.
5. Remove the reservoir from the vehicle.

1. Install the reservoir into the vehicle.
2. Install the power steering fluid reservoir-to-radiator support attachment fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the power steering fluid reservoir-to-radiator support attachment fasteners to 7 N·m (62 lb in).




3. Install the power steering pump feed line and the steering gear return line to the reservoir.



4. Reattach the power steering pump feed line to the power steering pump.
5. Fill the power steering pump fluid reservoir with cleanpower steering fluid (GM P/N 9985010).
6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement L61

1. Remove the pump assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement
2. Remove the reservoir retaining clips from the reservoir assembly.
3. Remove the reservoir from the housing.
4. Remove the O-ring seal from the pump housing.

1. Lubricate the new O-ring seal with power steering fluid (GM P/N  9985010) and install it into the reservoir.
2. Install the reservoir into the pump housing. Make sure to push the reservoir straight into the housing.
3. Install reservoir retaining clips.
4. Install the pump into the vehicle. Power Steering Pump Replacement .
