Windshield Defroster Duct Replacement LHD Only

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the I/P harness plastic retainer from the I/P assembly to allow for the defroster duct removal.
3. Remove the screws and unsnap the windshield defroster nozzle from the mode valve assembly.
4. Remove the windshield defroster nozzle by rotating the front of the nozzle up and away from the windshield.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




1. Snap the windshield defroster nozzle onto the mode valve assembly and install the screws.

Tighten
Tighten the windshield defroster nozzle to 2.2 N·m (20 lb in).

2. Install the I/P harness plastic retainer to the I/P assembly.
3. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.

Windshield Defroster Duct Replacement RHD Domestic Only

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the windshield defroster nozzle screws.
3. Remove the windshield defroster nozzle by releasing it from the HVAC module and rotating the front of the nozzle up and away from the windshield.

1. Rotate the defroster nozzle toward the windshield and down to snap onto the HVAC module.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the defroster nozzle screws.

Tighten
Tighten the windshield defroster nozzle to 2.2 N·m (20 lb in).

3. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
