Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Coupe
Removal Procedure
Caution: If energy absorber is removed or damaged it must be replaced with a new part.
If omitted, the vehicle will not meet federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS),
subjecting the retailer to possible civil penalties for making the vehicle inoperative
to the FMVSS, and increasing the risk of injury to the vehicle occupants.
- Remove the rear side door lower trim panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement

- Remove the rear side door water deflector.

Installation Procedure
- Position the water deflector to the top of the door structure.
Important: Make sure there are no wrinkles in the "No Wrinkle Zone" of the water deflector
(shaded area in illustration).
- Pull down on the water deflector and align the lower attachment clip hole.
- Attach bottom edge and work any wrinkles upward.
- Install the rear side door lower trim panel. Refer to

Removal Procedure
- Remove
the rear door trim panel. Refer to

- Tear at the perforation along the edge of the energy absorber. Remove from the
door structure.
Installation Procedure
- Using the dimples at the top edge of the water deflector, attach the water
deflector to the door structure. Install the new energy absorber if removed.
