Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement Coupe
Removal Procedure
- Open the rear door
to the full open position.
- Remove the rear check link Torx® screw.
- Partially close the door to disengage the door check arm from the door
check link and remove the front Torx® screw.
- Remove the check link.
Installation Procedure
- Partially open the hinge to the seat check link on the hinge and install
the front Torx® screw.
- Open the rear door
to the full open position to engage the door check arm into the check link.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the rear Torx® screw and tighten both fasteners. Tighten as required
using one of the following tools:
• | Short (less than 1 1/4 in) Torx® driver. |
• | Snap-On flank drive torque adapter P/N GFRDH081 or equivalent and
Torx® bit. |
Tighten
Tighten the rear door upper hinge check link bolts
to 11 N·m (8 lb ft).
- Be sure that the check arm properly seats into the check link.
Rear Side Door Check Link Replacement Sedan/Wagon
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear door inner panel. Refer to
Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement
.
- Remove the bolt at the hinge pillar.
- Partially remove the water deflector.
Important: It is not necessary to remove the outer panel.
- Remove the nuts at the door and remove the check link through the door from
the inside.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
Notice: Be careful not to damage door sound insulator. Make sure all seals are properly
positioned.
- Install the check link-to-door with the nuts. Do not damage the check link
cover.
Tighten
Tighten the rear door check link-to-door nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the check link-to-hinge pillar with the bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the rear door check link-to-body bolt to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
Install the water deflector.
- Install the trim panel. Refer to
