Tools Required

    • J 42065 Crank Hub Holding Tool
    • J 42098 Crank Hub Torx Socket

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 894184 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1289072 Size: SH
  3. Mount the J 42065 to the crankshaft drive gear with the breaker bar.
  4. Use the J 42098 to remove the crankshaft drive gear bolt.

    5. Object Number: 894299 Size: SH
  5. Remove the crankshaft drive gear.
  6. Inspect front oil seal for damage, replace if necessary.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the crankshaft drive gear.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the crankshaft drive gear bolt - L81 to 250 N·m (184 lb ft) + 45° + 15°.

  2. Install the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement .
  3. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the battery terminal bolts to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).
