Removal Procedure
  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling.
  2. Remove the heater outlet hose clamp from the heater core.
  3. Remove the heater outlet hose from the heater core.
  4. Remove the heater inlet hose clamp from the heater core.
  5. Remove the heater inlet hose from the heater core.
  6. Remove the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement.
  7. Remove the shift control bracket. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement for the Getrag 5 speed transmission or Floor Shift Control Cable Replacement for the 4T45-E transmission or Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement for the 5AT transmission.

  8. Remove the heater duct screws.
  9. Remove the heater duct.

    10. Object Number: 933022 Size: SH
  10. Remove the heater core cover screws.
  11. Remove the heater core cover.

    12. Object Number: 932938 Size: SH
  12. Remove the heater core pipe cover screw.
  13. Remove the heater core pipe cover.
  14. Remove the heater core pipe foam seal.

    15. Object Number: 932945 Size: SH
  15. Grasp the heater core at end tanks and remove heater core. Spray the perimeter of the heater core seal and the heater core pipes at the front of dash with a soap and water mixture to ease removal.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the heater core. Spray the perimeter of the heater core seal and the heater core pipes at the front of dash with a soap and water mixture to ease installation.

    2. Object Number: 932938 Size: SH
  2. Install the heater core pipe seal.
  3. Install the heater core pipe cover.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the heater core pipe cover screw.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  5. Spray the front of dash seal at the drain tube opening to aid in heater core cover installation.

    6. Object Number: 933022 Size: SH
  6. Install the heater core cover.
  7. Install the heater core cover screws.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  8. Install the heater duct.
  9. Install the heater duct screws.

    10. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  10. Install the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement.
  11. Install the shift control bracket. Refer to Transmission Control Replacement for the Getrag 5 speed transmission or Floor Shift Control Cable Replacement for the 4T45-E transmission or Range Selector Lever Cable Replacement for the 5AT transmission.
  12. Install the heater inlet hose to the heater core.
  13. Install the heater inlet hose clamp to the heater core.
  14. Install the heater outlet hose to the heater core.
  15. Install the heater outlet hose clamp to the heater core.
  16. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
