Locate and repair the source of the overload in CKT 140 (ORN).

Connect a test light from cavity C 7 of the STOP/HAZ fuse to ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Repair the open in CKT 3 (PNK) between the fuse block and the ignition switch.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the multifunction alarm module. Refer to Audible Warnings Components .
  2. Connect a test light from cavity K 2 of the multifunctional alarm module connector to B +.

Does the test light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between cavity K 2 of the multifunction alarm module connector and G 200.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

  1. Connect the multifunction alarm module.
  2. Insert the key into the ignition switch and place the ignition switch in the LOCK position.
  3. Open the door.

Does the chime sound?

--

  1. Disconnect the key-in warning switch.
  2. Connect a test light from cavity B 3 of the key-in warning switch connector to ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the multifunction alarm module.
  2. Measure the resistance in CKT 80 (LT GRN) from the key-in warning switch connector to the multifunctional alarm module connector with a J 39200 .

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

1.0 ohms

Replace the multifunction alarm module.

Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 80 (LT GRN) between the multifunction alarm module connector and the key-in warning switch.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a fused jumper wire from cavity B 3 to cavity B 4 of the key-in warning switch connector. Refer to Using Fused Jumper Wires in Wiring Systems.

Does the chime sound?

Replace the key-in warning switch.

Refer to Ignition and Key Alarm Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Repair the open in CKT 159 (TAN) between the key-in warning switch and the instrument panel (IP) harness junction block.

Is the repair complete?

Place the headlamps switch in the PARK or HEAD position.

Inspect the ILLUM fuse in the fuse block.

  1. Disconnect the multifunction alarm module.
  2. Connect a test light from cavity J 1 of the multifunction alarm module connector to ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Repair the open in CKT 8 (GRY) between the multifunction alarm module and the fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the multifunction alarm module.
  2. Connect a test light from cavity K 1 of the multifunction alarm module connector to B +.

Does the test light illuminate?
