Head-Up Display System Check

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Using a scan tool, establish communications with the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC)
    • The scan tool is able to communicate with the IPC.
    • No IPC DTC are stored.

Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

The instrument panel cluster will perform a indicator bulb check and a sweep test (minimum to maximum) on all gauges.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Set the instrument cluster head-up display (HUD) dimmer switch to the MAX position.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

All of the segments of the Head-up display (HUD) will illuminate for approximately 3.5 seconds.

  1. Press the HUD DISPLAY button to the UP position.
  2. Press the HUD DISPLAY button to the DOWN position.

The HUD image moves UP when the DISPLAY button is pressed UP, and moves DOWN when the DISPLAY button is pressed DOWN.

  1. Move the HUD dimmer switch to the OFF position.
  2. Move the HUD dimmer switch to HIGH position.
    • The HUD image is OFF in the OFF position.
    • The HUD image varies between a minimum and maximum brightness when the dimmer switch operated.

  1. Move the HUD dimmer switch to the HIGH position.
  2. Cover the ambient light sensor located on the HUD display unit with a dark fabric.
  3. Wait 5 seconds.

The HUD image dims with the ambient light sensor covered.

Press and hold the HUD PAGE button to scroll through the different HUD display modes.

    • The HUD system will scroll through the following display modes:
       - Speedometer
       - Speedometer and Gauges
       - Speedometer, Tachometer and Gauges
       - Speedometer and Tachometer
       - Tachometer
    • The HUD display matches the instrument cluster display.

  1. Press and hold the HUD PAGE button to scroll through the different HUD displays until Speedometer and gauges or Speedometer, Tachometer and gauges is displayed.
  2. Press and release the HUD PAGE button to scroll through the different HUD gauge display modes.
    • The HUD system will scroll through the following gauge display modes:
       - OIL PRESSURE
       - COOLANT TEMP
       - FUEL
    • The HUD display matches the instrument cluster display.
