Did you perform the Wiper Washer System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  2. Pull the front wiper/washer switch toward the driver's seat and release.
  3. Disconnect the combination switch connector.

Do the wipers stop operating?

--

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Replace the combination switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the front wiper motor connector.
  2. Connect a J 35616-200 unpowered test lamp from the front wiper motor connector cavity 2 to ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Repair the short to voltage in the BLU wire between the combination switch and the front wiper motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

Test for a short to voltage in the BLU/RED  wire between the combination switch and the front wiper motor.

Is there a short to voltage?

--

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to voltage between the BLU/RED wire between the combination switch and the front wiper motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

Test for a short to voltage in the BLU/WHT wire between the combination switch and the front wiper motor.

Is there a short to voltage?

--

Go to Step 9

Go to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement

Repair the short to voltage between the BLU/WHT wire between the combination switch and the front wiper motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?
